Mini Me... Oh, My!
So I had originally planned to take this weekend off from baking but my curiousity got the best of me...
I had a lot of fun and between Cookies 'N Cream and S'mores I don't know who is the favorite but all were loved!
Batting First.. Banana Bread Cupcake with Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread) Buttercream
Batting Second... Cookies 'N Cream Cupcake with Vanilla Buttercream topped with crushed chocolate cookies
Batting Third... S'mores Cupcake! (Graham Cracker Cake, Chocolate Cake, Marshmellows and Chocolate Ganache)
And batting clean-up... Coconut Paradise (Spongy Cake, Coconut Custard Filling and Coconut Buttercream)

More Valentine's Sweets
Items I made for a work and a local church over the holiday weekend.
Basic sugar cookies with royal icing, sprinkles and edible ink.
Baking lessons were learned this weekend. I am not a trained baker so sometimes I just learn things the hard way... haha. Lesson number 1: Don't EVER EVER travel with a cake already tiered. I actually saw this go wrong twice this weekend. End result was liveable. Lesson number 2: tempering chocolate requires patience and a watchful eye.
I had a great time creating all of these and spent the majority of my holiday taking my Statistics class... wooooo... haha.
Until next time.
P.S.- coming up... mini cakes.
Basic sugar cookies with royal icing, sprinkles and edible ink.
Truffle mix of a traditional chocolate truffle dipped in chocolate with pecan topping, peanut butter truffle dipped in chocolate with peanut butter chip topping and a traditional chocolate truffle dipped in white chocolate topped with chocolate cookie crumbles.
Cake that was donated to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC.
Red velvet cake, cream cheese icing filling, buttercream and fondant accents.

Super Bowl 2010
Okay, so my Colts lost. No biggie, because I still had an awesome time baking the big cake and talking to people about it.
Cake 411- Devil's Food, traditional Yellow Cake, Vanilla and Chocolate Buttercream, Cookie 'n Cream Buttercream and rolled fondant.
Before you look at the pictures... just a few notes... This week I have a Valentine's Cake for a church in Raleigh, Conversation Heart Cookies and assisting a good friend on a cake for her book release party. Stay tuned. :)
